Aywas is a collectible pet site for older teens and adults. Adopt as many pets as you want, and explore the seven regions of Ay for wild pets to capture and add to your collection. We are a submission-based virtual pet website, so you can color pets, create items, and create Human Avatar clothes for everyone else to enjoy. We offer battling, breeding, mini-games, an active forum, and the ability to create your own custom aywas. Color the adoptable bases, and even edit them to look more like your characters. The possibilities are endless!

This month's Premium Item is the Psychic Call! This item will give your pet the Adventure ability Psychic Call - allowing it to call a wild pet of your choice from that region into battle, from R10 - 50.

For the month of May, you may use your Jeweled items to create any previous May base! You can view the available bases in the Knowledge Base articles for the Jeweled Crystal, the Jeweled Hybrid Crystal, and the Jeweled Rare Crystal. If you want to be a Jeweled Custom Artist, please visit the hiring thread!

The Flubelle is currently the active Raw genus, which means that you can purchase the Pride Flubelle in the BP Shop! It will remain the active genus until July, so be sure to make a note of this in case you wish to make any!

As a reminder, submissions for the Mayday Exotic Sale are open until May 9th! If you're interested in creating a set for the sale, you can review the application process at the bottom of this news post.

Additionally, the submission threads to create a Semi OOAK Base and Coloration for Pride are currently open until 11:59 PM AST on June 30th! There is also a thread in the Think Tank if you would like to suggest items for the Exotic Sale stock!

Looks like a few new themed breeding add-ons have been added to the database! These were from the User Suggested Breeding Add-ons forum thread, so many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. More may be added in the future, but I would like to stagger them out and it also is a big process (see: Brad is easily distracted) to implement more than a few at a time. The six new additions have been added to the BP shop and GP shop and can be freely purchased for the next week. They may become permanent additions in the future, and they are able to be pulled from the Themed Addon Box and Random Breeding Addon.

I am also looking for some artists to help me with an upcoming event. Please see this thread for more information. I would greatly appreciate your time and expertise!

Super Rad Custom Crystal Due to popular request, the Alt-Lines in Oopsie Fields have been loaded into this Super Rad Custom Crystal! You can see the lines and PSD's in This KB You can pick them up until the end of the month in the BP and GP shops. Note: They do not allow line-breaking edits, but do allow any edits that clip to the base and don't obscure the lineart. They are silver edited from all other lines and alt-lines of the same genus, thus cannot be LBC to other lineart of the same genus. Egg Field

The Egg Field has been loaded with some goodies by the admin staff. More will be loaded in randomly over the weekend, so if you don't find any now, check back! These will be a mix of low and high-ticket items, like custom makers, alcoholic items, potions, and more! Happy hunting!

A Small Addition You might have noticed a small quality-of-life (QOL) update to the Egg Field—specifically on the Deposit a Pet page. Changes like this are now tentatively being opened up through the Suggestions Forum. Please make sure to review: [READ] Suggestions Etiquette & Dead Ends which has been updated with an addition to Rule 7: "Small quality-of-life coding can be suggested for existing site features that reflect things already used elsewhere on the site." What this means This is a trial run to allow small QOL improvements using already existing, stable systems from other parts of the site. For example, the Egg Field update follows this logic:

Does this functionality already exist elsewhere? Yes (Custom Pet overlay search)

Does it solve a common user issue? Yes What is NOT included Large changes, new features, or anything requiring entirely new systems will still not be approved. These types of updates are being saved for the recode. It doesn’t make sense to heavily modify old systems when a new, more modular structure is already in development. How to make a good suggestion Before posting, consider:

Does this already exist somewhere else on the site?

Does it solve a problem many users experience?

Do users avoid using a feature because of this issue? Suggestions that meet these points are much more likely to be considered. A note on implementation These small updates will not be handled by the new developer. They will be implemented solely by Kandria, in order to:

keep the developer focused on the recode

avoid slowing down long-term progress Because of this, this initiative is tentative and will be kept to a manageable scope.
